India vs England: Jonny Bairstow has Injured During 3rd Test Match
The 28-year-old England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow have a small fracture on the middle finger on his left hand when a James Anderson delivery swung late to hurt him in the 44th over, during the first session of play on Day 3 of the Trent Bridge Test. Bairstow had to shed his ‘keeping gloves immediately to undergo an X-Ray, reports of which confirmed the fracture.
Jonny Bairstow was spotted in the home team’s balcony and had his injured finger dipped in a glass of cold water without any strapping. It is understood, however, that he is expected to bat in England’s second innings, if need be.
However, going by the way the hosts capitulated in the first innings – 161 all-out – and how India have already stacked up a daunting lead, Bairstow is certain to bat. He’s also been in terrific form, having scored two fifties so far in the series.
