Mustafizur Rahman ruled out and Abul Hasan replaces in Bangladesh squad for Afghanistan T20Is
Mustafizur Rahman ruled out for afghanistan tour and Abul Hassan will replace for the coming T20I series against Afghanistan, the country’s cricket board confirmed on Wednesday (May 30). Abul Hasan is scheduled to reach India on June 1, two days before the start of three-match series in Dehradun.
Mustafizur Rahman was ruled out of the tour on Monday evening after a CT scan on his injured left toe revealed a hairline fracture. The left-arm-pacer’s eleventh-hour withdrawal left BCB miffed, with the board believing that Mustafizur hadn’t effectively communicated the severity of the injury sustained during his stint with Mumbai Indians at the Indian Premier League.
The 25-year-old Abul Hasan last played for Bangladesh in the ODI tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in January. Abul made his international debut in 2012 but has struggled to hold down a spot in any of the three formats.
Hasan played the last of his four T20Is in 2012, a format in which he has just two wickets and an economy rate of 9.81. His performance in last year’s Bangladesh Premier League- 10 wickets at an economy of 8.13 – is understood to have been a factor in his recall.
